Employers are required under state and federal regulations to provide for a controlled substance abuse policy, employee training, supervisor training, testing including; Pre-Employment, Random, For Cause (Reasonable Suspicion), Post Accident, Return-to-Duty and Follow-Up testing. The California regulators also require a periodic test during permit renewal. Employers are required to provide for Substance Abuse Professional services, to allow employees to return to work, record keeping, laboratory certifications, collection site certifications and blind sampling requirements.
