ODAPC Office of Drug and Alcohol Policy and Compliance ODAPC is the principal advisor to the Secretary of Transportation on rules related to the drug and alcohol testing of safety-sensitive transportation employees in aviation, trucking, railroads, mass transit, pipelines, and other transportation industries. The Office publishes regulations and provides official interpretations on drug and alcohol testing, including how to conduct tests, and the evaluation and treatment procedures necessary for returning employees to duty after testing violations.
The Federal Regulations fall under Title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations.
Part 40 regulates the parts of the drug and alcohol testing industry
Part 382 regulates employers of commercial class "A" and "B" drivers utilizing vehicles over 26,001 lbs GVW or transporting 16 or more passengers.
Part 655 regulates Federal Transit Systems receiving grants and funding from the FTA
In addition there are also federal requirements under title 46 part 16 covers employers and captains that operate under a US Coast Guard license to transport passengers.
Title 14 part 120 covers the Federal Avaiation Adminstration requirements.

City, County and State regulations all direct employers to substantially follow 382 of the Code of federal Regulations (CFR) commencing with section 382.1. This implys that State, City and County regulated employers enact full D.O.T. look a like drug free workplace programs.
